Anti-Spam software can help prevent you receiving spam emails which may contain rude photographs, links to inappropriate websites asking for your bank or credit card details, asking for charity donations or asking for money for some sick children in Africa, selling products and or services which aren't appropriate for you or children to view as well many other types of inappropriate readings and pictures. If you send emails out to clients, friends or family you don't want to send them a virus do you. So a good spam filter will protect both ingoing and outgoing emails.
